Aussie model cuts locks to help youngster with hair loss

A model is planning to cut her long locks to help young girls suffering from hair loss.Amy Jarvis, from Coolangatta in Australia, is donating her tresses so they can be used to make wigs for those suffering from alopecia, My Daily News reports.
She explained that she has always had long hair and cannot imagine what life must be like for school kids suffering from female hair loss.
"When I heard that I could donate my own hair to be used to make wigs for these children, I decided I would get the chop," Ms Jarvis continued.
The wigs her locks will be used for have a special suction device that means they stay in place when youngsters play sport or go swimming.
Ms Jarvis is asking people to sponsor her to trim her tresses so she can raise money to make even more of the hairpieces, which each cost around AU$3,000 (£2,000).
Sam Croombs, an 11-year-old from Basingstoke in Hampshire, recently chopped 19 inches from her crowning glory after she heard one of her friends suffered hair loss when being treated for leukaemia, the Daily Mail reported.
