Female hair loss inspires new business
Published: 29th of July 2010
A woman who suffered from female hair loss due to chemotherapy has launched an innovative business solution.Speaking to the Palm Beach Pulse, Claudia Seggal explained that when she lost her locks, she did not anticipate the impact it would have on her self-esteem.
"I wasn't prepared for how I really would feel about myself, looking at myself in the mirror, getting ready to go out and trying to put makeup on," she added.
Although she tried to wear a wig, she found them unceasingly uncomfortable - but nor did she want to do the "scarf thing".
Instead, she eventually came to her own conclusion: she would have to provide for herself and, thus, CoolHats - varying headwear with human hair attached - was born.
Customers can choose from baseball caps to fedoras to sunhats and even trade their former tresses' shade for a hot new colour.
And clients may possibly like to find a salon that caters for such fashions, such as Maxine's Shears and Wigs.
This business was inspired by an alopecia sufferer, according to the Coloradoan.
