Hair can become dry in the winter, expert claims
Published: 17th of January 2012
People using hair loss treatment may be trying to keep their locks in the best possible condition, which could mean ensuring they do not get too dry this winter.Celebrity coiffeur Mark Hill, who has been British Hairdresser of the Year twice, explained that, much like skin, tresses get less moist during colder seasons.
Furthermore, trying to stay warm could just make matters worse, as central heating may become the enemy to a healthy crowning glory.
"Dry heat draws moisture from anywhere it can, including your hair," Mr Hill explained.
"Make sure you use a conditioner and a regular treatment if you're cosying up on the sofa this winter," he added.
Indeed, this could be particularly important for people suffering from thinning hair, as senior stylist at Toni & Guy Tony Bou Khalil recently warned dryness of the scalp and tresses can lead to strands becoming brittle and falling out.
