Sudden hair loss 'could be caused by fever'

Sudden hair loss can be caused by being ill in recent months, one expert has explained.In an article for the Daily Mail, trichologist Marilyn Sherlock said having a high fever for a day or more can result in the death of tresses.
However, these strands do not fall out straight away and it could be three months before they appear to drop at once.
Individuals could be forgiven for worrying over dramatic thinning such as this and, indeed, the specialist noted this is one of the most common times for people to look for hair loss treatment.
This type of alopecia is self-resolving, she stated, but there are other reasons men and women may start going bald including genetics, crash-dieting, autoimmune conditions and hormonal changes.
Stylist Evette Tritt recently told US news provider KYTX that being exposed to high temperatures, such as during a particularly hot summer, could lead to hair loss.
