An apprentice stylist is preparing to shave off her locks to show her solidarity with those suffering from hair loss due to cancer treatments.According to the Moree Champion, hairdresser Kiri-Lee Colbran of New South Wales, Australia will be undertaking the task at the upcoming Relay for Life.
The 17-year-old said she wasn't nervous about the task but excited, eager to start styling her new crop as soon as possible.
She is even looking forward to experimenting with wigs, new cuts and different colours, Kiri-Lee went on to note.
And when asked if she is fearful as to whether her natural curls will grow back poker straight, the teen responded: "I'm an apprentice hairdresser, I can get a perm."
Her attitude may be inspiring to others considering the same task.
Certain hair loss charities, such as the Little Princess Trust - which supports children with alopecia and has celebrity fans like Gail Porter - also accept donations of shorn tresses to create hairpieces for its charges.
