Tips on nutrition to ward off hair loss
Published: 23rd of September 2010
Proper nutrition is thought to be an antidote to hair loss - and moreover, can keep locks in everyday good shape.According to a piece in Metro Canada, there are five main factors which need to be addressed in the average diet.
Expert Michelle Kingston told the publication that slow growing or a pigmentation problem could mean that the tresses - and concurrently, the person - is struggling with a zinc deficiency.
If so, sugary foods heavy with refined carbohydrates should be avoided, while greasy hair may point to a lack of vitamin B2 - something that can be found in leafy vegetables, eggs and fish.
Ms Kingston also noted that while thinning locks can be attributed to many factors, diet is one, so someone experiencing this should "supply plentiful amounts of the building blocks for hair by increasing your intake of protein and iron each day".
And news source Helium recently ran an article which declared that problems with biotin production - such as those caused by antibiotics - might stultify growth.
