'Treat locks with respect' when battling hair loss
Published: 23rd of September 2010
Hair loss can be caused by many things - and one of them is thought to be a person's lifestyle.Part and parcel of maintaining healthy tresses, according to beauty expert Cat Marnell in a piece for Lemondrop, is treating them with respect.
This includes using gentle products and accessories to style them, so people struggling with hair loss may like to try purchasing items such as a satin pillowcase, which is said to help reduce breakage and smooth strands from the follicles down.
Furthermore, Ms Marnell went on to note, using non-snag devices like special hair pins and grips is also important, as is being careful not to pull tresses out when they are tangled or caught.
And it may be worth investigating sulphate-free shampoo to ensure that locks are not loaded down with harsh and potentially damaging chemicals.
Good nutrition is also thought to be useful in the fight against balding, as it should help to strengthen strands.
