Country dance to raise cash for hair loss youngster
Published: 22nd of September 2010
One community has found a novel way of raising money to support those experiencing hair loss - they plan to dance the night away.According to CantonRep.com, Stark County residents of the US state of Ohio will be coming out to do-si-do for dollars.
The country dance will be held on Saturday, September 25th in honour of a seven-year-old girl from the area who has lost her locks due to alopecia areata, an autoimmune condition that causes patchy hairlessness all over the body.
Jenna McNeil was diagnosed with the illness in 2007 and has thus far experienced her tresses falling out three times.
The Squares for Hair event is part of the National Alopecia Areata Month in the US.
And continued publicity for the cause might be pleasing for celebrities on this side of the pond, such as Gail Porter, who saw her own strands fall out due to the disease several years ago.
