Hair loss solutions can be glamorous, says cancer patient
Published: 13th of September 2010
Hair loss was distressing for Jane Kelly, who underwent chemotherapy after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She recently told the Telegraph about her experiences - first with thinning hair and then baldness - but said it has changed the way she feels about her appearance.
Previously, Ms Kelly did not give too much thought to her femininity or what makeup she wore - but now, she enjoys wearing lipstick, bright earrings and various headscarves.
Another way she looks glamorous is via the use of a small purple turban, to cover up the hair loss until treatment concludes.
"My old face will be back soon enough, not so youthful or well painted, but, I like to think, more friendly and interesting," Ms Kelly added.
Recently, a piece of art she created was accepted into a national competition. The painting portrays her thinning hair just after it began to fall out.
