Bernie Nolan: Hair loss hasn't killed my self-esteem

Hair loss and early menopause due to her treatment for breast cancer has not affected Bernie Nolan's self-esteem.In a recent interview with the Daily Mail about the disease and her recent appearance at a red carpet event when she was photographed completely bald, Nolan said she still feels attractive.
At first, her thinning hair could still be styled - but in the end she decided to get rid of it all.
"When I looked in the mirror I didn't cry. I thought: "Okay, so I wouldn't choose this. But come on! People have worse haircuts than this, even when they have hair," she explained.
What helps, the singer and actress added, is her husband Steve's attitude - he reassures her that he did not fall in love with her because of a haircut.
Nolan is due to have her left breast removed soon, although chemotherapy is believed to have reduced the size of her tumour.
Recently, she appeared on GMTV and urged women considering a mammogram to stop procrastinating and just book an appointment, because "the sooner the better, that's the whole point".
