Coconut oil 'could help replenish damaged hair'

People experiencing thinning hair may like to increase their consumption of coconut oil, as one publication believes the substance to have healing properties.According to Live In The Now, a website - set up by Stop Aging Now - dedicated to promoting health and wellbeing, this product has been used for hundreds of years to improve the overall condition and appearance of locks, with research revealing it can reduce dryness.
"Coconut oil easily penetrates the skin and hair, getting down to the dermis and hair shaft, leading to healing of the skin and hair," it was observed.
Furthermore, the news source noted that coconut oil can also support thyroid health and possibly reduce hypothyroidism symptoms, which can include severe hair loss and strands becoming coarse, dry and brittle.
However, other ingredients may prove beneficial as well, such as applying a mixture of olive oil and egg yolk regularly to improve condition, as recommended by OneIndia.
