8-year-old donates strands to children with hair loss
Published: 31st of August 2010
A young girl who donated her tresses to support children struggling with hair loss has indicated that she does not regret her decision.Bobbi Jane Lawrence, aged eight, worked for four years to grow her strands to a long enough length to be accepted by Locks of Love, according to the Star News.
The publication implied that she had a friend in nursery school who was bald and this inspired the child to make the necessary sacrifice.
Although losing her red curls felt strange at first, the youngster told the newspaper that she is finding it quicker and easier to brush her hair.
"Most of my friends like my short hair. One didn't like it, but she's beginning to like it," she continued.
She is not the only one to donate to a charity that deals with hair loss - the US organisation is a similar structure to the Little Princess Trust, a UK not-for-profit association that is supported by celebrities such as Gail Porter.
