Sisters make donation to hair loss charity
Published: 31st of August 2010
A trio of sisters have sacrificed their strands to show their support for people with hair loss.According to the Herald Extra, Lizzie, Rebecca and Dakota Thompson - aged 13, 12 and ten - plan to donate 14, 12 and 11 inches of their tresses respectively.
What's more, this is the second time Lizzie and Dakota will be making the contribution, having done a similar thing several years ago and subsequently inspiring some friends to do the same.
And Rebecca was so touched by her siblings' gesture, she grew her always-short coiffure out so she too could donate.
"I am so proud of their giving spirit. They have such love for others and love the idea that such a simple act can lift the spirits of a child going through a very difficult situation," their mother Shelly said.
British readers who are interested in the idea of making such a contribution to children with hair loss can contact Locks of Love, which accepts donations of ten to 12 inches.
