Sister act support hair loss charity
Published: 31st of August 2010
A pair of sisters have sacrificed their strands to help others with hair loss.According to the Kingman Daily Miner, 12-year-old Justine Spivey volunteered to have a foot of her long dark hair cut off in order to make a donation to Locks of Love, which specialises in supporting children dealing with hair loss, whether through cancer, alopecia or unknown causes.
Her ten-year-old sister Natalie then followed her lead, snipping off ten inches worth of tresses.
It would appear that the girls are happy with their choice as well, claiming they find their new 'dos much more convenient.
"It was too heavy before. It's light and easy to take care of now," Natalie explained.
Others interested in making a similar donation or working with a UK charity that manages hair loss might like to get in touch with the Little Princess Trust, which is supported by TV presenter and alopecia sufferer Gail Porter.
