Youngster insists her hair loss does not make her different to anybody else
Published: 27th of August 2010
An 11-year-old says she contradicts people who think she is ill because of her hair loss, insisting she is perfectly healthy.Speaking to the Middletown Press, Chloe Mulberry said she was shocked to hear that her mother is concerned for her future as she grows up and goes through puberty while suffering from the baldness caused by alopecia areata, as she does not see herself as different to anybody else.
Furthermore, she praised the work she is doing with best friend Katy Swede-Taillon to raise cash for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation.
Her mother, Kristen, told the newspaper that she is proud of her daughter, who has suffered from cyclical hair loss since she was just three years old.
"Chloe's very confident. She walks around in public without a wig. I think she's cried maybe once during this whole thing," Ms Mulberry added.
This is despite a statement on Today's THV recently, which claimed women find it much harder to cope with baldness than men.
