Hair loss entrepreneur 'focuses on women's self-esteem'
Published: 25th of August 2010
A wig maker has spoken out about the joy she gets from helping people recoup self-esteem that may have suffered through hair loss. The Bay of Plenty Times quotes Rhonda Jensen as saying she has put many cancer patients at ease through helping them choose and style a hairpiece to cover their scalps.
The entrepreneur, who owns New Zealand establishment Tudor Wigs & Hairpieces, has worked in the business for over 20 years.
Her clientele includes men and women who have lost their locks through chemotherapy, alopecia and other medical issues.
"Once you get them into the right wig, most of them go out wearing it, with their head held high and feeling good about themselves," Ms Jensen said.
And she isn't the only businesswoman to speak about such a concept lately - the San Francisco Chronicle recently reported that local Miracle Wanzo has won a competition to set up her own wig retail outlet.
