Could Chinese treatment be an effective method of controlling hair loss?
Published: 24th of August 2010
Herbal medicine may be one avenue of treatment that those suffering from hair loss might like to consider.According to a piece on XinhuaNet, the problem is beginning to afflict more people in China than before.
Patchy baldness used to be viewed with suspicion in the country and known as guititou - shaven by a ghost - as it was thought to be an ancient curse.
As with many things in China, certain herbs and alternative treatments are used to correct the balance of energy which some schools of thought say is the reason for hair loss in the first place.
Furthermore, doctors suggest "an improved diet with quality protein and less grease ... less frequent hair washing and less sustained taxing of the brain."
The latter might be one effective target for those hoping to reduce their rate of hair loss, as a recent article on EmpowHer called stress the "number one" cause of thinning locks.
