Hair loss event 'a big help'
Published: 23rd of August 2010
An event for men, women and children suffering from hair loss is said to have gone down well.According to the Sun Herald, the Pink Heart Funds Learning Luncheon in Mississippi saw plenty of high fashion, makeup and style as guests and celebrities strutted down its runways.
The charity is designed to help those who are suffering from thinning locks - whether these are a result of cancer treatment, alopecia or unknown reasons - cope better with the fact.
And one person going through the struggle says it is a huge help.
JoAn Niceley told the publication that the effect on a person's self-esteem can be immeasurable.
"Self-image and feeling beautiful about yourself is key to getting through the toughest of times," the cancer survivor declared.
And this is not the only recent event to be dedicated to hair loss - the Camden Advertiser recently reported that a group of year eight students will be participating in a huge Zumba class to try to raise cash for classmate Danny Banos, who suffers from alopecia and would like a new wig.
