Salon encourages client donations to hair loss charity
Published: 20th of August 2010
A stylist has encouraged consumers to consider donating any locks they are thinking of getting cut to children with hair loss.Locks of Love, a charity which works to provide support to bald youngsters, is an incredible outlet for those who are suffering with conditions that can cause thinning tresses, according to Casey Leiker, a cosmetologist at Posh Salon and Spa.
She told the Newton Daily News that she would always urge her customers to offer their trimmings to the group.
"What seems so insignificant to us, it just means a lot more to a child who needs it," she pointed out, noting that although all ages - and both genders - have volunteered in the past, it is often other little ones.
"[It's] really sweet because they know it's for another child. That's what I like about it," the stylist added.
There are similar charities in the UK, including the Little Princess Trust, for which TV presenter Gail Porter is a supporter.
