Act as soon as you notice hair loss, expert advises
Published: 18th of August 2010
A publication has advised women noticing hair loss to take precautionary measures as soon as possible.Writing for Terra USA, a correspondent noted that while it is normal to lose up to 100 strands a day, any more than this can quickly become a problem.
As such, as soon as the subject becomes aware of the issue, they should start looking carefully at their haircare routine to see if they can ascertain the culprit.
The piece pointed out that the use of styling tools such as straighteners or curling irons can quickly take their toll on our tresses - so it might be worth using these more sporadically and upgrading to a model with ceramic plates, thought to be less damaging.
Pulling hair back too tightly can cause traction alopecia - a condition which Alesha Dixon could be suffering from, after pictures of her with apparently thinning locks appeared in the Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, other possible factors might be stress, pregnancy or diet, the news provider concluded.
