Teenager collects ponytails for hair loss

A teenager has collected 240 inches of human tresses in order to help those suffering from hair loss.According to the South Bend Tribune, Emily Archer has donated three ponytails herself to Locks of Love, a cause she feels passionate about - and these were the only times she has ever had her curly tresses snipped.
Currently competing for the Miss Cass/St Joe County Outstanding Teen contest, the 15-year-old is determined to eventually give ten ponytails to the organisation, which would make a wig for a child.
However, in the meantime, she took it upon herself to plan and hold an event in which local residents could come and get their locks chopped off themselves in order to give them to the charity.
"They just kept coming and one family donated 70 inches. The mom had a 24 inches ponytail," Emily added.
And she isn't the only one to make such a charitable effort in recent weeks - the Cleveland Daily Banner reported that a salon had held a similar hundraiser that resulted in donations totalling 130 inches.
