Aromatherapy 'effective against hair loss'
Published: 11th of August 2010
Alternative therapies might be one potential method for tackling hair loss.According to Dr James Le Fanu, writing for the Telegraph, there have been unequivocal results in tests trialling such a theory, with aromatherapy being particularly effective.
He suggested giving essential oils such as rosemary, thyme, lavender and cedarwood a go, while those who find that their hair loss is triggered by stress might like to consider taking recent advice from the International Federation of Aromatherapists.
The group recommended fragrant baths as a good technique for relaxing away from the pressures of modern life.
Meanwhile, Dr Le Fanu pointed out that hair loss caused by auto-immune condition alopecia can be frustrating and difficult to treat - although one unusual avenue which has proven to be surprisingly positive is injecting a steroid substance into the scalp which, while it induces an attack of eczema, may encourage tresses to make a re-appearance.
