Hair loss 'can naturally reverse itself'
Published: 10th of August 2010
Those suffering from female hair loss shouldn't give up hope - a change could be right around the corner. This is according to a piece published in the Trinidad News, which noted that while hair loss can be sudden and unexpected - often triggered by stress, alopecia or unknown factors - it can regrow just as quickly.
The newspaper explained that the life of a hair follicle can be anywhere from two to five years and, as such, is quite adaptive.
Furthermore, it has four different conditions - one of which, the telogenic or 'resting' period, is generally the culprit for hair loss, the publication continued.
If the follicle gets lodged in this phase for too long, thinning and falling out is likely to occur. Conversely, however - the news provider claimed - this can just as easily be reversed naturally, which can lead to thickening and regrowth.
It is possible that patients concerned about their scalp may be able to seek out a special hair loss clinic in their area, such as one recently opened by a trichologist in Lincoln.
