Is the prime minister struggling with male hair loss?
Published: 9th of August 2010
It seems that one of Britain's most powerful men is falling victim to male hair loss. The prime minister, David Cameron, has been photographed with a patch of thinning locks on his pate, which may come as a surprise to those who have admired the leader of the Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition for his thick head of hair.
Furthermore, it looked as though the politician's brown tresses were distinctly more tinged with grey than they were when he came to power in May after taking over from the Labour party's Gordon Brown.
However, it is not uncommon for men in stressful situations to see it manifested on their scalp, as anxiety is a big trigger for alopecia - an auto-immune disease that sees strands fall out from all over the body.
And it could be said that Mr Cameron is certainly in such a position, as he struggles to guide the country out of the global economic downturn and juggle the emergency Budget controversies.
