Published: 2nd of August 2010
Could extra-virgin olive oil help to prevent hair loss?According to a piece on helium.com, the substance has special properties which may aid people suffering from such a predicament.
Writer Sandra Piddock claimed that not only is including olive oil in your diet much better for you than any supplementary foods, such as butter, it can also decrease your chances of experiencing thinning hair.
Furthermore, it can cut the risk of heart disease and colon, breast and skin cancers.
And it works just as well as a beauty aid, Ms Piddock went on to say.
"Simply smooth onto damp skin, for an effective, chemical free moisturiser. Olive oil can also be applied to hair as a conditioner, or to treat dandruff or head lice," she added.
Meanwhile, other dietary changes which could improve your head of hair includes eating more foods rich in protein, such as lentils, meat, fish and eggs, Dr Hilary Jones recently claimed in the News of the World.
