Hair loss movement garners wigs for kids
Published: 20th of July 2010
An expert for a movement which creates opportunities to help children suffering from hair loss has praised supporters.According to a piece in the First Coast News, volunteer coordinator for Kutting for Kids Lea Montgomery claimed that those who had donated their locks had raised enough hair to make wigs for 56 youngsters altogether.
She gave special credit to helpers such as a band which provided free entertainment, a supermarket which gave free refreshments and supplies and Simon malls, which allowed the group to use its facilities and services for free.
Ms Montgomery went on to note that in total on Sunday (July 18th), 673 ponytails were collected - which makes 6,856 inches of hair in total.
The youngest donor was just five years old.
Meanwhile, Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe has revealed she too is suffering from hair loss caused by extensions and overstyling which has left her with bald patches at the roots.
