Woman forms hair loss support group
Published: 19th of July 2010
A woman has beaten her anxiety over female hair loss to form a support group for other victims.According to the Surrey Comet, Julie Morris of Worcester Park will be holding a discussion forum for people who suffer from alopecia in an effort to boost self-esteem.
Now 48, the organiser first contracted alopecia when she was 18 and lost her tresses, eyelashes and eyebrows.
Over the course of her battle with the condition, Ms Morris said she has met numerous other people who say that are embarrassed and low over their hair loss.
This is particularly the case with women, she continued.
"It is a huge deal in a world where there is so much emphasis placed on appearances. I want others out there to know they are not alone," the expert added.
Meanwhile, It girl Tamara Beckwith has been spotted out with a bald patch in her ponytail, leading to fears that overstyling is causing her locks to fall out, the Daily Mail reported.
