Published: 12th of July 2010
A young girl has donated her locks to sufferers of hair loss.According to the Coffs Coast Advocate, Millie Stevens was shocked when she heard about the plight of alopecia victims after seeing Alopecia Foundation ambassador Stephanie Rice describing the condition on television last year.
She made the decision then and there to volunteer her tresses and, now that many months have passed, willingly gave up her long hair.
The 11-year-old even allowed her schoolfriends to witness her sacrifice, the publication continued.
The locks were given to the Princess Charlotte Alopecia Foundation to create wigs for people in need.
"She sat in front of the whole Mary Help of Christians Primary School while family friend and qualified hairdresser Kelly Turner did the deed," it explained.
Meanwhile, Only Fools and Horses actress Sue Holderness has spoken out about her own alopecia ordeal to the Daily Mail, describing losing her hair as "very frightening".
