Sister of alopecia sufferer writes book about female hair loss

A young girl has written a book praising her little sister's struggle with female hair loss.Megan Edwards, aged eight, composed the booklet after watching her sister Isla battle against alopecia, from which she has suffered since she was two and a half years old.
Now five, the youngster is gearing up to start school in September and is worried that she will be bullied and picked on because of her condition.
Megan penned My Sister Isla: Bald But Beautiful to try to explain how Isla is the same as everybody else, just with less hair.
In the tome, she describes how the family tried to find a suitable replacement for her sister, such as a wig, but in vain as Isla did not like the way it felt, the Northern Scot reported.
"So we got her a hat. She liked her hat because it was comfy and warm," the budding author continued.
Meanwhile, a ten-year-old American girl hoping to raise enough cash attend a camp for sufferers of alopecia recently received some donations from local sports figures and businesses, including Olympian gold medallist and fellow hair loss fighter, swimmer Staciana Stitts Winfield.
