Could lightening tresses help hair loss sufferers?
Published: 5th of July 2010
Those of us suffering from female hair loss might find that lightening our locks could be of use.According to a piece in the Arab Times, choosing to colour thinning hair could be one way of helping to disguise the problem while the subject looks for other remedies to solve it.
"Dark colours show more of a contrast between hair and your scalp, whereas lighter colours - particularly shades of blond - hide the scalp more easily," the publication explained.
Should a sufferer choose to do this, they might like to tell their stylist that they are worried about the condition of their hair to ensure she or he takes this into account.
However, it might be worth doing so only very occasionally - after pictures of supermodel Naomi Campbell emerged with a large bald patch on her temple, Renee Lagrange told the Mirror that stressing tresses out with too much styling or refusing to take a break from wearing weaves can be a prime cause of hair loss.
This is especially true for Afro-Caribbean women, she added.
