Men 'keen to avoid hair loss'
Published: 15th of June 2010
Men do not want to suffer the effects of hair loss, according to one expert.Megan Winegar, web editor for Overstock Drugstore, said that they attach a level of manliness to their locks and so wish to prevent balding.
She noted there are a number of risk factors that should be avoided for this purpose.
For example, being too rough when drying tresses can cause damage to the follicles, she claimed.
Also, taking very hot showers can strip hair of essential oils, which will lead to dryness and dullness, Ms Winegar stated.
Meanwhile, too much bleaching and styling can raise the possibility that individuals will lose their locks, she noted.
She added: "When your hair is wet, don't yank a brush through it. Use a wide-toothed comb to gently work out the tangles and arrange your hair the way you want it to dry."
Another way in which men may be able to reduce their chances of suffering baldness is by ensuring they have sufficient levels of protein in their diets, as this is known to promote the health of tresses.
