Female hair loss sufferers 'should opt for simpler cuts'
Published: 4th of June 2010
Bobs could be the ideal cut for women who are worried about their thinning hair, one specialist has suggested.According to Alison Dace, expert at leading hair and beauty salon group Saks, females who want to disguise their thinning hair would do well to opt for a simple style.
She explained: "Keep it one length and blunt. Also going a shade darker adds the illusion of more hair. Avoid very short and overly layered haircuts."
Her remarks follow research by scientists at Unilever, which found hair recession among women typically takes place due to genetic reasons, while hair thinning can be attributed to factors involving lifestyle and the environment.
Saks has numerous high-street salons in the UK and aims to exceed consumers' expectations. It has become a household name and delivers training to students in its academies around the world.
It has, in the past, received the Nationwide Salon Group of the Year award from Hair Magazine and Best Nationwide Salon Group from Woman's Own.
