Smoking 'can cause hair loss'
Published: 1st of June 2010
There are many reasons why people should give up smoking and avoiding hair loss is one of them, it has been suggested.According to a Times of India report, the thinning of tresses can be a side-effect associated with the vice.
And the falling out of locks is not the only problem caused by cigarettes, it added.
Those who indulge in the substance may also experience more wrinkles and they are at an elevated risk of developing heart disease, as well as diabetes.
Meanwhile, both men and women who smoke can experience fertility problems, the news source claimed.
The habit is not the only thing that can increase individuals' risks of suffering hair loss.
Failing to eat a balanced diet rich in the necessary nutrients can also have this effect.
For example, a lack of protein and vitamins, among other things, can have a negative impact on the health of tresses.
