Published: 28th of May 2010
When men suffer from hair loss, they can also experience a decline in confidence, it has been claimed.According to expert Marilyn Sherlock, the thinning of tresses can be a big issue for people.
She remarked: "Hair loss can have a significant impact on a person's self-confidence and self-esteem."
Meanwhile, hair dresser Mark Woolley suggested that individuals who find themselves in this position should seek advice from a trusted source.
He noted that when clients come to him, he ensures they are given the facts concerning hair loss.
Mr Woolley added: "I want to make sure they have all the information they deserve and avoid any confusion."
Recently, psychologist Sara Chatwin claimed that men often define themselves by the way they wear their hair and so losing it can be traumatic for them.
She went on to note that this may in part be a result of traditional beliefs that suggest locks are associated with such things as virility and youth.
