A woman has been doing her bit to raise awareness of the problem of hair loss among young people.Caroline Sammon, a mother-of-two, decided to have her tresses cut off so she could donate them to the Little Princesses Trust, the Herts Advertiser 24 reports.
She decided to get her long locks chopped in aid of the charity and is also aiming to raise £300 to give to it.
Commenting on her actions, she said: "I just walked into ... my usual hairdressers and said I have had an idea and Kate was completely behind it and gave me the haircut free and has a collection box in the salon."
The trust helps youngsters who have lost their tresses for a range of reasons, including those with alopecia.
One person to have had the condition as a youngster is Dave Myers - one half of TV duo the Hairy Bikers.
