Hair loss 'can make men look older'
Published: 21st of May 2010
When men suffer from hair loss, it can make them appear older, it has been noted.Writing in the Mail Tribune, Sharon Johnson said that she had asked a couple she knows who are in their 80s what it is they thought made each of the genders seem more aged.
The pair responded by suggesting that a shedding of tresses is one of the most noticeable things about men as the years go by.
Meanwhile, for women a changing of the colour of locks was pointed out as one giveaway concerning how old they are.
They also claimed that one thing that affects both men and women is wrinkles.
The conversation occurred as Ms Johnson and her friends travelled to Oregon State University campus to attend a conference on ageing.
Men keen to reduce their risk of suffering from a thinning of their hair may want to consider making sure they have sufficient protein in their diets as this is known to promote the health of tresses.
