Hair loss risk 'can be increased by hormones'
Published: 19th of May 2010
One of the risk factors for hair loss is hormonal imbalances, Natural News.com has pointed out.Such chemical issues can result in tresses thinning and, in some cases, a comprehensive falling out of locks.
In addition, people are more likely to experience hair loss as they get older, the news source noted.
It went on to list problems with circulation and certain kinds of medication as other things that can contribute to the problem.
Meanwhile, a lack of vitamins and a genetic predisposition can lead to tresses becoming vulnerable.
Those keen to slow or reverse the process should make sure they get sufficient nutrients in their diets, it noted. One aspect of this includes ensuring enough protein is present in their diets.
They should also avoid certain types of hair treatment - such as particular kinds of perms and colourings - in order to keep their locks in good health.
