Male hair loss sufferers 'can have a hard time'
Published: 14th of May 2010
Men who suffer from hair loss can experience a difficult time as a result, it has been claimed.Writing in the Daily Breeze, John Bogert suggested we live in a society that is obsessed with tresses.
Therefore, people who are lacking in them can be seen as inadequate.
Indeed, they are often the subject of jokes, he noted, saying that when he takes his son for a haircut, the barber always looks from the youngster to him and then remarks in a jest: "Which one of you needs the cut?"
He added: "Everybody laughs, even me, because bald people are required to be magnanimous, self-effacing sports."
Mr Bogert went on to point out that there are many famous men who have lost their locks, including Sir Ben Kingsley, Billy Zane, Bruce Willis and Elton John.
Another celebrity who has gone bald is former tennis ace Andre Agassi, who recently spoke about how traumatic he found shedding his tresses and how he tried to conceal the problem for a long time before he accepted it.
