Published: 10th of May 2010
Those looking to minimise their risk of suffering hair loss should pay attention to what they eat, it has been noted.According to an article in the Times of India, vitamins are one important source of nutrition.
The publication stated that egg yolks contain vitamin B-12, which promotes the growth of locks and helps stop them falling out.
Also, lean meats such as chicken and turkey are good sources of high-quality protein, which is essential for the growth, repair and maintenance of tresses, it claimed.
The news provider went on to suggest that low-fat products such as skimmed milk, yogurt and cottage cheese are also good means of getting protein.
As well as diet, there are other factors that affect hair loss.
For example, hormonal imbalances can play a role in locks thinning, as can genes, stress and experiencing a traumatic medical event, such as a major operation or giving birth to a child.
