Those who experience hair loss 'should seek help'
Published: 4th of May 2010
People who discover they are losing their tresses should find out what is causing the problem and seek help, it has been suggested.According to Mahi Vyas, it is crucial to "dig to the root cause" of the issue and then seek treatment.
The loss of locks can be particularly distressing for women, he noted, saying: "Hair is the very precious ornament of women to express her personality. Hence, it is very important to preserve it."
Awareness can help, he added, saying that once people know why their tresses are thinning, they may be able to take action to curb the problem.
Causes differ considerably between individuals, Dr Vyas pointed out.
He said that sometimes deficiencies - perhaps including protein shortfalls - can be responsible.
One person who has suffered hair loss publically is TV personality Gail Porter, who went bald five years ago due to alopecia.
Now, her tresses are growing back and she attributes this to her new-found happiness.
