Hair loss 'is dreaded by women'
Published: 4th of May 2010
Hair loss is a problem for both men and women, but female sufferers can experience more worry about it.This is according to a Teatro Naturale article, which suggested that the scenario of locks falling out can be "devastating".
It noted that all over the world, people with beautiful tresses are admired and others seek to emulate them.
However, not everyone is able to achieve this and due to a range of factors some people experience a thinning of their hair.
Although men have the option of turning their baldness into a fashion statement, women cannot, the news source said.
There are various types of hair loss, it went on to point out, with one being alopecia areata.
According to the NHS, this affects around one in a hundred people in the UK and it is most common among teenagers and young adults.
In most cases, locks return after a number of months, although this is not always the case.
