Stress 'can contribute to male hair loss'
Published: 26th of April 2010
There are many factors that can contribute to hair loss in men, it has been noted.According to a TheMedGuru article, stress is one potential cause of locks falling out.
It pointed out that genes are often the underlying cause of the loss of tresses, but this tends to interact with other things.
The news source went on to identify some common myths surrounding the medical condition.
One example is that baldness can only be inherited through the mother's side of the family. TheMedGuru suggested that this is not the case.
In addition, the notion that having long hair puts strain on the roots of locks and thus increases hair loss risk is also false, it suggested, as is the theory that wearing hats causes tresses to fall out.
People keen to minimise their risk of baldness may want to ensure they have sufficient levels of protein in their diets as this is known to enhance the health of hair, as well as having other medical benefits.
