Weight loss addict 'may have put herself at risk of hair loss'
Published: 20th of April 2010
A woman who suffered from a weight loss addiction has revealed that her problem affected the health of her locks, as well as the rest of her body.As a teenager, Natasha Bodley had anorexia and was dangerously underweight, the News of the World reports.
She first became concerned about her size at the age of 12 and her problems progressed over the years, eventually resulting in her having to be admitted into hospital.
Commenting on her experiences, she said by the time she reached the age of 20, she was just 5st 7lb.
Ms Bodley added: "I was smaller than a size zero and was dangerously underweight. Looking back, I was so sick - my hair was lank, my eyes dull. I barely left the house."
One of the ways in which she controlled her size was to take sliming tablets.
Losing too much weight or shedding it too quickly can leave locks vulnerable as it means people suffer from a lack of important nutrition such as vitamins and proteins.
