Hair loss sufferer wants to share experiences with others
Published: 15th of April 2010
A hair loss sufferer has revealed she would like to spend time with others who have the condition.Youngster Jasmine Parker has alopecia and as such, her body rejects hair as a foreign object, CBS 11 reports.
Her mother, Breshia, said that when her daughter saw a camp in Pennsylvania called Alopecia-Palooza - which is intended for children whose tresses have fallen out - she immediately wanted to visit.
Jasmine had stated: "Look mum, they all look like me, I want to go."
Intended to raise self-esteem, the initiative would enable her to mix with people who are going through similar experiences.
The schoolgirl has had alopecia since she was four months old and she has no hair on her body.
According to the NHS, alopecia universalis - which is what Jasmine has - is rare and only one in five people who suffer from alopecia areata go on to develop it.
