Pill 'could be responsible for hair loss in some women'
Published: 12th of April 2010
Some women may experience hair loss as a result of taking contraceptive pills, a news source has noted.Commenting on the issue, the Oromo Index cited research which suggested that the hormones contained within certain versions of the medication could be responsible for triggering the condition.
It stated that the older generation of pills is the one in question concerning hair loss and women who take them could be affected by losing their tresses when they are less than 30 years old in some cases.
In addition, it noted that those who have a genetic predisposition to shedding their locks are more likely to be affected in this way.
Hormones are often the cause of hair loss among individuals, however, other issues can play a part.
For example, bad diets, high levels of stress and physically traumatic events like childbirth and major accidents can also result in people experiencing baldness.
