Published: 12th of April 2010
A youngster in the US has revealed he has been adapting to his new image after he developed alopecia.Vince Danna, who is 13 years old, began to suffer from hair loss recently and went from having a full head of hair to no locks at all, TheNewsTribune.com reports.
Doctors are not sure what triggered his tresses to fall out, but now he is bald and has no eyelashes.
Commenting on how he came to terms with the medical complaint, Vince said: "The first couple weeks it was a little scary, but then everybody kind of knew. I adapted to it."
According the teen, who is seeking advice from medical experts, his hair came out in clumps.
Teachers at the school he attends have said he is allowed to wear a cap so that he feels more comfortable.
The majority of people with alopecia do not suffer a complete loss of hair like Vince, with only one in five alopecia areata patients going on to develop complete baldness on the scalp or the whole body.
