Styling products 'can cause hair loss'
Published: 8th of April 2010
People who regularly use styling products may be putting themselves at an increased risk of hair loss, it has been claimed.According to a Natural News article, shampoos, dyes and other hair treatments can contain harmful chemicals and ingredients that damage hair.
Over time, this can raise the possibility that individuals begin to lose their tresses, the news source suggested.
It went on to list a number of other risk factors that people should watch out for.
Among them was the menopause, which affects hormone levels in women's bodies.
It noted that oestrogen decreases during this phase and other hormones, including dihydrotestosterone, can become unbalanced.
Those keen to avoid hair loss should ensure they eat a healthy diet, as getting enough protein, vitamins and other substances is known to increase the health of locks and could therefore serve to reduce the risk of hair fall.
In contrast, crash dieting increases the likelihood of people losing their tresses.
