Gail Porter 'is an inspiration'
Published: 31st of March 2010
A support group based in Teesside set up to help those suffering from hair loss has been looking to celebrity Gail Porter for inspiration.Nina Welsh, who runs the organisation and has herself experienced alopecia, admitted that she spent months not handling the condition particularly well, Gazette Live reports.
"It took over my life. Eventually, I thought 'I'm going to have to take control back and I'm going to shave it all off because I look ridiculous anyway," she continued.
Ms Welsh went on to note that people in similar circumstances require some kind of service to offer assistance and counselling, something that she was not offered.
And she has been looking into the benefits of psychotherapy after working with others in the same position.
Porter herself recently revealed her joy about the return of her locks, with the Sun reporting that she is happy that she will be able to go to the salon once again.
