Eating properly can improve the health of tresses and potentially help individuals avoid hair loss, it has been claimed.According to a Oneindia report, consuming sufficient quantities of products such as eggs, broccoli, fish and spinach is important.
It said: "Like the rest of the body, your [hair] also needs nutrients. Doctors have confirmed that deficiency of iron, zinc, copper and protein cause hair fall."
In addition, getting enough vitamins is crucial, the article noted.
For example, vitamin E "works wonders" on the scalp, it posited, stating that the substance is an antioxidant.
Comments made recently on RealAge.com suggested that food sources such as bran, carrots, cauliflower, soybeans, eggs, nuts and beans, which are rich in vitamin B, can help to reduce hair loss and can promote the growth of locks.
Meanwhile, omega-3-rich foods such as salmon and sardines can add to the healthy appearance of tresses, it was claimed.
