Diet 'can impact on hair loss'

Published: 26th of March 2010
Diet `can impact on hair loss` People experiencing hair loss may want to consider changes to their eating habits.

According to comments made on RealAge.com, there are a number of foods which can help reduce the fall of tresses.

For example, bran - which is rich in vitamin B - can help to slow the process of thinning hair and can promote its growth, the news source stated.

Other foods which may also possess this quality include carrots, cauliflower, soybeans, eggs, nuts, beans and avocados.

Meanwhile, omega-3-rich foods such as salmon and sardines can promote the healthy appearance of locks, it was suggested.

Such things can help seal in the shine of hair and thus make it more attractive.

Earlier this month, the Scottish Daily Record warned that drinking too much alcohol can result in hair loss.

Chief executive of Alcohol Focus Scotland Jack Law said that individuals are often not aware of the physical damage they are doing to themselves by overindulging in the substance.
